Product Description
BreathKey is the smallest and lightest breathalyzer in the world, but it is big on features and quality. Unlike other bulky breathalyzers, it easily fits on a keychain so you can take it with you wherever you go. And it is the only consumer breathalyzer at any size or price that has a fuel cell alcohol sensor, the same type that is used in police equipment. The BreathKey breath alcohol tester is FDA certified, and has a lifetime battery that is good for many years of daily use. It also has an advanced backlit display with simple plain English prompts. One button operation gives results in seconds.

5 out of 5 stars Good to Have Around   July 14, 2010
Charles Zogby
This is a really useful device. I think everyone should have one, it would probably cut down on DUIs. People can't accurately judge their BAC on their own. Just to be safe, I wouldn't trust it to more than 0.02 accuracy, and I probably wouldn't drive on any more than half the legal limit.

1 out of 5 stars It would be smarter to ask a cop to breathalyzer you before you drive than to trust this toy   May 5, 2010

After you drink enough to need this breathalyzer, make an educated guess as to what your BAC is, and that guess will be more accurate than what this breathalyzer shows. Although, this breathalyzer would serve as a great toy/game to distract and keep busy your drunk guests until they sober up.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty Reliable for the Price   February 23, 2010

Did quite of bit of testing on this little breathalyzer and it did pretty well. Tested across guys and girls and different body types and it did a good job. I would definitely recommend it for the DUI aspect and as good for a laugh at a party.

1 out of 5 stars Wasn't accurate and wouldn't function at times   December 31, 2009

I bought this product because I was excited about its small size and positive reviews, however, I was left very disappointed and ended up returning it very quickly. I first started having problems when I was pushing the button and it would never give me the BLOW command and would instead turn off. Now I was drunk when doing this, but I never figured out the solution to this. I figured if the device to measure my drunkenness doesn't work while drunk then you have problems.
While I can account that last problem to some sort of user error, the accuracy problems I ran into next forced me to return it. I was pushed over the edge when I did a series of 4 consecutive readings an hour after drinking (to ensure my reading wouldn't be influenced by recent alcohol consumption) and my readings ranged from .05-.14. The .05 reading suggests I can legally drive (I know I was much drunker than this) while the .14 is almost twice the legal limit. I deemed this completely unacceptable.

This seems too work most of the time that I tested it based on how much I drank.
