Good addition for bathroom heat February 20, 2010 Tony There is a 2 bulb heater but I opted for this 1 bulb. It gives off pretty good heat and raises the bathroom temp which takes out the chill when stepping out of the shower. The fan does automatically turn on when there is too much heat in the unit for saftey purposes. This is hooked to a maxium 30 minute timer. We are happy with it!
The best of both worlds January 30, 2010 ff344ymfc (Lancaster, Pennsylvania) This unit is compact yet provides decent ventilation and heat. The wiring allows you to put the fan and the heat lamp on separate switches. The fan is reasonably quiet and will keep the mirrors from fogging up... unless you take 180-degree showers. With a 250-watt bulb the heat lamp helps to warm up the room although it is not as fast as you might think. Overall a good fixture that is relatively easy to install.
fan heater light January 8, 2010 Rhonda (northwest) This was what I was looking for, the only problem is that it was not exactly the same as the old one, so I couldn't harvest the parts out of it. Further, it was not configured the same as the old one. So my electrician had to do some juryrigging to get it in the hole. I had to get too of these and had the same problem in both units. otherwise no complaints from my tenants about their new fans.
Works great! December 14, 2009 JD (Quincy, CA) Installed pretty easily. Fan and light works great and has a nice look to it.
Not Described Right October 27, 2009 DVDRYET (Mtn. Vw, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a pretty good product and a good price, but its for new construction not for retrofits.
The difference is that there will be air gaps between the ceiling drywall and this unit if you are retrofitting. Especially if you have an older house with an old unit that was nailed directly to a joist. This unit has sliding steel rails so you can locate anywhere between the ceiling joists which is ok for new construction but for retrofits you will have a huge air gap.
