1 out of 5 stars You must be joking   June 7, 2010

I'm a chef and have used this ill conceived disaster. I have no idea what sort of epicurean nightmare passes for food for those who gave this good reviews but, I can tell you that this is a waste of money and we are all stupider for having used it. It is a pointless attachment to a Kitchenaid in as much as it is a manual crank and requires more fiddling than manually rolling the dough. Just to be clear this is not a machine that you set the components in and crank away till they run out. The process to use this machine either requires you to puree the filling (in this case why not just by a box of frozen from the store) or you need to feed and shape every filling by hand. When it does produce a ravioli it is usually a mess and is surrounded by half a pound mangled dough/filling goo. There are plenty of much cheaper dough rollers with and without motors that will be far better and faster for someone wanting to make a quality ravioli.

5 out of 5 stars Works great, if your dough is good (see "customer images" at top)   May 15, 2010

This is a fantastic device, despite the previous negative reviews. It worked the first time out of the box, no problems at all. The photos at the top are from this first time. The trick is that your dough has to have the right consistency; the one time it failed is when the hubby made a batch of dough that was too wet. The dough should be very slightly crumbly on the first pass through the flat rollers. You can fill the hopper with filling (no need to "fill" each ravioli), just like in this video:

5 out of 5 stars Pshaw. Don't listen to the naysayers   April 30, 2010

So, I wasn't going to purchase this because of the multiple negative reviews. I am a novice pasta maker, rolling my first pasta only a month ago. I got the ravioli maker as a gift today, and thought, "what the hey. Might as well try it." I found this ravioli maker very, very easy to use. I made up my own filling and cranked out two batches of ravioli in short order. I am chuffed at how wonderful these little babies look. I feel like I have joined the "Top Chef" ranks! As another reviewer said, you attach this to the Kitchenaid and hand crank. It is pretty straight-forward. The only bummer to me was once you split the individual ravioli apart, a bunch of pasta goes to waste. All in all, this was a wonderful gift and a fabulous addition to my Kitchenaid attachments!!

5 out of 5 stars Great Ravioli Easy to Use   March 13, 2010

I almost did not buy this item based on numerous reviews. As suggested in one review, I watched the Peter Pasta video on You Tube and decided to give it a try-I love my Kitchen Aid Ravioli Maker! I had never made ravioli from scratch before. Excluding the time to make the filling, it took me about 30 minutes to make the dough and crank out 75 perfect little raviolis on my first attempt. I am sure it will be quicker the next time. Watch the video and do exactly what Peter Pasta does and it will work great.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointed   January 24, 2010
T. A. Moss (California)
We waited with great anticipation for this product to arrive but was it worth the wait and cost, NO. A big fat disappointment. It is far more trouble than it is worth. Whatever you do, do not put in anything that isn't solid, butternut squash well what a disaster, filling oozing out all over the place. Better off with cookie cutters!!!!
